About Cristian Graziano
I'm the founder of Ixpleo - a company that helps small and mid-sized businesses plan, organize, and develop effective websites. Ixpleo works closely with businesses to identify their target audience, craft a strategic sitemap, and deploy their website.
Lately, my passion has been working on Compass Web Publisher - a unique way for businesses to market and promote themselves online. Compass provides a website management tool that helps drive traffic to your site and give you near-complete control - while Ixpleo handles the hosting, software, and technology. Compass is designed to elegantly balance function with form; it is built completely around the smallest details.
You can probably tell that work is a large part of my life.
Personal Background
I grew up in a small town in Woodinville, Washington. I started playing with computers at a young age - and redesigned all of the signs at my parent's business when I was eight or nine.
When I was 15 and the dot com boom was peaking, my parents spent a lot of money to have a business website developed that wasn't very good. I told them I could do a better job - so I picked up a 400 page html book and started reading. I built them a website and did a few revisions as I learned more. I had so much fun doing it, and realized I could probably make money doing something I loved, I decided to start my own business at the age of 16. I've been self-employed ever since.
I worked on various websites in the community - including one for my high school and various non-profits. I eventually moved to Arizona, enrolled at Arizona State University, and rebranded my small business into Ixpleo, Inc. Customers began asking for ways to update their own websites, but I wasn't satisifed with what was out there. It was either too complicated for a regular person to learn to use, or was so dumbed down it didn't have any functionality. I ended up developing Compass to strike the delicate line between features and ease-of-use.
In December, I graduated summa cum laude from ASU with a bachelor's degree in finance. I love working on websites, but I enjoy interacting with clients and running my business even more. This blog culminates all three topics.
